South Coast Mensa is a diverse organization for individuals who score in the top 2% of the general population on a standardized intelligence test.
Our local chapter of American Mensa, Ltd. serves the South Coast area of Alabama and is a proud member of Region 5, which encompasses the southeast region of the United States.
As a member of our community, you will have access to a diverse range of individuals who share your intellectual curiosity and interests.
Mensa offers over 150 special interest groups (SIGs) for you to engage with and opportunities to attend local, national, and international events.
Our mission is to empower our members with the intellectual stimulation, social connection, leadership development, and community service opportunities they seek.

Did you know that over six million individuals in the US qualify for Mensa membership? However, most of these people are unaware of their eligibility and haven't considered joining the organization.
If you're interested in becoming a member of South Coast Mensa, there are two ways to do so:
1. Take the Mensa Admissions Test (if you're 14 years or older)
2. Provide evidence from nearly 200 other approved tests, including the WAIS, Cognitive Assessment System, the Miller Analogies Test, or the Stanford Binet.

Third Saturday Meet To Eat Saturday
This monthly event is a great opportunity for members to gather together and enjoy great food, drinks, and conversation.During the Meet To Eat, we come together to discuss a wide variety of topics, including local events, world events, current events, and more. We listen to each other's thoughts and gain insight into the ideas and perspectives of our fellow members. It's a great way to get to know each other and to learn about the world around us.
The Meet To Eat is not only a chance to share ideas and thoughts, but also to relax and have a good time with like-minded individuals. We believe that a shared meal is an excellent way to connect with one another and build relationships. We welcome new members and old-timers alike, so whether you are a long-time member or a newcomer, you are sure to feel welcome and included.

Fourth Sunday Meet to Eat Sunday
The Fourth Sunday Meet To Eat is a potluck style event where members can bring their favorite dishes to share.
During the event, we come together to enjoy great food, drinks, and conversation with one another. It's a relaxed and comfortable environment where we can get to know each other better and build lasting friendships. We also often have guest speakers, including authors and other notable individuals, who share their insights and ideas with the group.
In addition to the great food and conversation, the Fourth Sunday Meet To Eat is a great opportunity to participate in our local gaming group. Members can play a wide variety of games and engage in friendly competition while enjoying each other's company. It's a fantastic way to have fun and unwind with fellow Mensans.

Mensa Monthly Gathering
This monthly event is an important opportunity for members to come together and take care of administrative business while also enjoying great food, drinks, and conversation.
During the Mensa Monthly Gathering, we share news about any special projects that the group is working on and discuss any important updates or changes within the organization. We also often have presentations from members on a wide variety of topics, ranging from their own personal experiences to expert insights on subjects such as crime and safety.
In addition to member presentations, we also frequently have guest speakers who share their unique perspectives and insights with the group. This is a great opportunity to learn about different subjects and broaden our understanding of the world around us.
The Mensa Monthly Gathering is always well-attended, and it's a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones. We typically meet at a sit-down restaurant, where we can enjoy great food and drinks while discussing important business and interesting topics.

Mensa Game Time: Zoom In for fun!
Mensa Game Day is a monthly Zoom event that takes place on Saturdays and is designed for people who love to have fun and challenge themselves.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of online games with other members of the group. Whether you are into strategy games, word games, trivia, or puzzles, you are sure to find something that will pique your interest. You can play games that are already familiar to you, or try out something new and exciting.
The Mensa Game Day is a great way to meet and connect with other members of the group while sharpening your mind and having a blast. You will have the chance to engage in friendly competition, learn new skills, and make new friends in a supportive and welcoming environment.
